Welcome to An Educated Guess!
In this semi-regular newsletter, I share stories that pivot perspectives on current issues. I try to make you think differently, but always based in data.
My approach is to make academic insights accessible, applicable, and attractive by linking them to challenges in everyday life. I’ll dig into psychology and neuroscience most often, as my own background lies in these fields of study, but will foray into other areas as well. I’ll make use of my previous talks, essays, and academic publications, and log my steps as I explore the themes of my new book project.
I’m starting here and now because in a world of paywalls, publishing anywhere else would lock too many people out. Substack allows me to play freely with new, more impactful forms of writing, publishing, and audience engagement. It’s an exciting experiment to be a part of.
I’m looking to build a community of curious, like-minded readers. Please join the conversation by commenting on and sharing my work. If you subscribe (for free!) you will receive all my new posts in your inbox and hear about ongoing conversations and notes as they unfold.
I intend to publish an essay every other week, with shorter thoughts and striking information visuals in between. Like a good guest, I arrive on Friday and stay for the weekend. I hope my posts will make you muse for three days as well.
